Cancellation &
reimbursement policy

In case Finlandia Ski Marathon is forced to be cancelled due to weather conditions or for any other reason that is out of the orgaziner’s control, the organizer have the right to keep 50% of the admission fee and the remaining 50% is automatically transferred to the next year’s event admission.

The organizer and the registered skier can mutually agree on another method of reimbursement if needed.

In the event of cancellation, a skier or his team/group is not entitled to receive a reimbursement for his/her admission fee. However if the admission is cancelled before 31st of December of the respective year a skier can transfer 50% of the payment to the next year’s admission fee. The skier is required to inform Finlandia-hiihto's office → about the cancellations.

If the course is shortened due to extreme snow conditions or any other cause that the organizer has no control over, the admission fee is not reimbursed nor is the skier entitled to any discounts or any other forms of reimbursement.


  • Reimbursements are only valid within the next registration period (from May when the registration opens to February when the event takes place) and will void after if not used.
  • The organizer does not return money - the reimbursement is given during the registration process within the next registration period.
  • Reimbursements are personal and can't be transferred to another person.

    In case of Sickness

    In case of sickness a participant can apply for reimbursement. The Reimbursement is 50% of the payment made after submitting a official document (e.g. doctor’s certificate) not later than March 31st of the respective year. See details about reimbursements from our policy.

    To be entitled for a reimbursement you must apply for it from the Finlandia-hiihto's → Office. You can send a copy of the documents to us by email.

    We would also appreciate if you would inform us in case you're not able to join the race.


    Transferring admission

    We allow you to transfer your admission to another person in case you need to withdraw from the race.

  • During the regular registration period :
  • We do not charge extra if you wish to transfer your entry to another person. However if the course is also changed we will charge for the price difference according to our list prices. If the new course selected is cheaper we do not give reimbursement from it.

  • During the late entries :
  • If you wish to make the change during the late entry period we will charge extra 10 € for the transfer. If the course is changed as well please see above about the possible costs (regular registration period). The transfers can only be done at the race office and it must be done before the start of your race. The person whom will take your place needs to have your confirmation letter and an authorization from you for the transfer in case you can't personally come to the race office.

    Failing to transfer the admission as stated above may result in disqualification from the race.


    Other Terms

    Organizer reserves the rights to use the information gathered from the participants for direct marketing.

    Organizer reserves the rights to use and publish photographs, videos and other media owned by the organizer from the event.

    Finlandia-hiihto (Finlandia Ski Marathon) is an non-profit organization. The income (after expenses) will be divided between the two organizing local sports clubs - Lahden Hiihtoseura (Lahti Ski Club) and Hollolan Urheilijat -46 (Hollola Athletics '49). By participating you are supporting local youth athletics.
