Particapate to a virtual Finlandia-hiihto

Virtual Finlandia-hiihto (VR in short) is a our response to you during the pandemic. The purpose of the virtual event is to give the sports lovers the opportunity to participate in the event at your desired location independently and as safely as possible.

Virtual Finlandia-hiihto is not a competition and no prizes will be awarded. 10 free Finlandia-hiihto 2022 tickets will be drawn among the participants. Each participant receives a Virtual Finlandia-skiing diploma from their accomplishment.

You can register to the VR event from this web page. The event has a time limit while you can participate the event. You can register for the event in advance and you can register until the last day when the event is active. Virtual Finlandia-hiihto can be completed between 20th of February and 14th of March 2021.

For distances, you can choose a shorter option of 10-20 km or a longer one of 30-65 km which you should complete during a single day.

how to registrate

The registration system is maintained by Ultimate Sports Service Aps - Finlandia-hiihto's official result service partner. You will be transferred to Ultimate Sports Service'sonreg.com registration system for the duration of your registration. The information collected will not be passed on to third parties.

When your registration is complete, you will receive a confirmation email. The e-mail also includes your username and password, which you can use to edit your registration if necessary. In the registration system you can also later change the length of your chosen distance - and complete your virtual event by uploading your result.

As the virtual event is not a competition there are no strict rules.

For distances, you can choose a shorter option of 10-20 km or a longer one of 30-65 km which you should complete during a single day. If you are measuring your result (eg with a smartwatch, a smartphone or with a similar device) you can pause your timer during your breaks.

The event can be completed with sports of your liking like skiing, running or cycling. Only sky is the limit! (note, we earlier announced that the event should only done by skiing but when listening to you we decided to open up other options as well).

The result must be reported to the results service no later than March 14th 2021.

upload your results

You can measure your performance with your personal device and send your result to the Virtual Finlandia-hiihto's results service. You can measure your performance with the most common devices, such as a smartwatch or a smartphone.

You should upload the log file stored from your device to our results service, if the device is compatible with the system. You can submit your results more than once but only the most recent upload will register as your final result.

You can also input your performance measurements manually, in case there's no other options for you. In this case record the distance you skied and the time you spent on it and upload the data to our results service.

registration fee

The participation fee for Virtual Finlandia-hiihto is 15 EUR, regardless of the selected route length. The entry fee includes a digital batch number that you can print for yourself which you can wear during your skiing, the processing of the results and a digital diploma. In addition, you have the opportunity to participate in the Worldloppet Virtual Racing League.

RESULTS

Worldloppet Virtual League

If you participate Virtual Finlandia-hiihto you have also the opportunity to participate in the Worldloppet Virtual Racing League (or VR League) event.

Everyone whom have completed 7 different Worldloppet virtual events will receive the Worldoppet Virtual Racer title in recognition. With the title, it is possible to order Wordloppet's unique Virtual Racer T-shirt and participate in raffles organized by Worldloppet. However participating in virtual events does not grant you official Worldloppet stamps.

When you register for Virtual Finlandia-hiihto, you must choose separately if you want to participate in the VR League as well, and that your information and results can be transferred to Worldloppet by us. In addition, you must have an account to Worldloppet's MyLoppet service. Registration is free if you do not have an account yet. Participation in the Worldloppet Virtual League is completely voluntary.

Finlandia-hiihto (Finlandia Ski Marathon) is an non-profit organization. The income (after expenses) will be divided between the two organizing local sports clubs - Lahden Hiihtoseura (Lahti Ski Club) and Hollolan Urheilijat -46 (Hollola Athletics '49). By participating you are supporting local youth athletics.
